hey sean, its been a while since i have been out at St Andys due to work but generally the prevailing winds there make it unsuitable for kitesurfing. Closer to home for you is monifieth. Lots of good lads down there. Anything each hour of high tide is best.

As for lessond KSS used to teach but havent seen them in ages. Try synergy. Mark and maggie used to come down to moni to teach but they are based in aberdeen so not sure if they still do. I think they are your closest and best bet for the water stuff.

Enjoy

Yip, agree with mac. We teach land based stuff but your closest waterbased school is Synergy in Aberdeen.

Nope. Just getting somone to teach you has a load of insurance issues as well.

Do you have any kiting background at all? If you do you could arrange to meet up with someone who could give you some tips but its honestly well worth getting a full day lesson, helps the learning curve alot!

Why dont u give them a bell. SYNERGY. To be honest i dont think you will find any one - on - one tuition for water stuff apart from them.

If you can alraedy kite then u could just get down and stay in the shallows but generally the winds at moni are cross so if you get into difficulties then thats not where u want to be (in the middle of the tay).

Right now i know most people are not heading out due to having snow to play with so i cant recommend a time to come down and have a crack knowing people will be around.

Again i would seriously recommend a lesson or two unless you head out with some mates who will look out for u.
