A little wind and lots of open space, look up too, you don't want any overhead cables around either enjoy!

Look out for Jim and the other vicky park kiters. I've been to Vicky park a number of times, great fun.

Hi

You can occasionally get some 'funny' (lumpy/gusty) winds at viccy park so always keep at least one eye on it.

If you thiink the wind looks too strong then it probably is. As a beginner, don't be afraid to 'keep your kite in the bag' and wait for better conditions.

...also a good idea- get urself a gift and buy a windmeter as sometimes is not easy to judge wind speed e.g. cold wind feels stronger than warm one
and of course safety gear- helmet, pads, kite-killers

As you get more experienced you'll be able to judge the wind better...

If you really get into the sport you'll end up with a range of kite sizes so you willl always have the perfect size (or close to it...) for any wind conditions. Then you can start a session with a small kite and move up sizes as necessary.
